Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well. We were able to see the Lord's hand in protecting His missionaries in a very real way this week. Two of our Elders, Elder Sudbury and Elder Omana were in a horrible car accident. A semi's tire blew out going down the freeway causing it to go across the median into oncoming traffic. The Elders went underneath the semi trailer and it completely ripped the top of their car off. This could have easily taken their lives. Our zone leaders called after it happened telling us that they were in the ICU and Elder Omana was going into surgery. We all prayed as a mission at 7 pm the night it happened. The next day both of the Elders were responding very well, and they were released from the hospital just 4 days after the car accident. The power of prayer is very real.
One of my favorite things to do as a missionary is visit the nursing home. A lot of the residents there don't get visits, so they really appreciate when we come. We paint the lady's nails every week. This past week Sister Gadi and I sang Christmas songs to them. Nothing makes me happier than to see a smile on their faces.
One of our really solid investigators has been ignoring us for the past two weeks. We didn't know what had happened because he was really interested in our message. We finally were able to get a hold of him and found out he had read some anti mormon stuff online. It really scared him away from us. We set up an appointment with him because he said he has a lot of questions. I am really praying we can clear up anything false he read.
We also had a lesson with Lamon one of our investigators. I love teaching him, he is hilarious. Sometimes as missionaries we don't realize how much we testify of feeling the spirit without clarifying what it means when we say they will "feel the spirit." He is an African American who grew up attending a church that when they "feel the spirit" it is a crazy manifestation where they drop to the floor and scream and shout. I told him of how when I came to know The Book of Mormon is true it was a still small voice. A feeling of peace, but it changed my life. After we cleared that up, he seemed a lot more excited to read The Book of Mormon. :) Being a missionary is so awesome. I can't say that enough.
I love you all, and I am so grateful for all of your support. Have a great Thanksgiving!!
Love, Sister Furniss
P.S. Our pet butterfly Bruce died. It was such a sad moment. :(
