Hold to the Rod

Hello!

This past week was great! In our zone we are doing "district challenges." This past week our district challenged another district to handing out the most copies of The Book of Mormon. It was a lot of fun, but also a learning experience to witness the simple miracles that come when making The Book of Mormon even more of a focus. The Book of Mormon combined with the Spirit really is our most powerful tool as missionaries.

I went to Glen Carbon for exchanges this past week and we were trying some people. It was about 8:55 pm at this point, so we were about to head back to the apartment. We saw a guy sitting on his front porch so we decided to go talk to him before heading back. As we introduced ourselves he wasn't interested, but just as we were about to leave, a woman walked out of the house. We introduced ourselves to her and started talking to her for a little while. She told us about some challenges she is having in her life right now. We pulled out a copy of The Book of Mormon and shared a scripture with her. We then gave her the copy and invited her to read it. She was really touched by the Spirit and felt the love of God as we were able to be there in her time of need.

I love The Book of Mormon. I would not even be a missionary if it weren't for its powerful witness. Gaining a testimony of The Book of Mormon completely changed my life. That is why I am out here sharing this.

"Life moves all too fast. When you feel weak, discouraged, depressed or afraid, open the Book of Mormon and read." -Elder Boyd K. Packer

I am grateful for Elder Packer's faithful service. He will be missed.

I love you all! Keep pressing forward, and remember to put the Lord first ALWAYS!!!

Love,

Sister Furniss
I love my companion!
